A little look at Pin-Up Connections

After some headaches of working out our roof for the interior atrium space (which shouldn't be quite this tall by any means), we have come to conclusions of how we are going to be ABLE to support our roof. Though it won't look exactly like this image, our main structure will consist of members much like this, which is labelled a PinUp Connection. Look in Building Construction for a little bit of technical advice here. We found this element to be both structural and biological in nature, which drew us away from gothic revivalism in creating a huge elaborate truss system to something a little more modern. Our column will branch off somewhere near the 4th floor, unlike this image.
